Tie Flume Campground is located just off U.S. Highway 14, the Bighorn Scenic Byway, near the Burgess Junction and Woodrock areas of Bighorn National Forest, at an elevation of roughly 8,400 feet. The campground is positioned near a network of off-road vehicle trails and scenic jeep roads, in addition to standard hiking access, making it a common base for visitors bringing an ATV or off-road vehicle rather than only hiking or fishing gear. Like other high-elevation sites in the forest, the campground has a short operating season tied to snowfall, typically running from early summer through mid-September. Fishing and canoe access are available nearby depending on water levels for the season. Reservations for available sites can be made through Recreation.gov or by calling the national recreation reservation line, and remaining sites are first-come, first-served.
